Simon struggled against his iron restraints. “Let her go!”

Hannah sucked in her breath. General Sin still glared at Simon. “This is your last chance. Give me the names, and I'll release her unharmed.”

Simon’s field of vision blurred over. He wanted to scream. The metal from his handcuffs sliced open his wrists. He envisioned himself breaking free and tackling the general to the ground.

“Better talk.” General Sin yawned. “I hate getting my uniform messy.”

Hannah’s hand trembled, but she didn’t make a noise.

“Three …”

Simon clenched his jaw, unable to tear his face away from Hannah’s wide, terrified eyes.

“Two …”

“Stop!” He tried to leap out of his chair.

  2. The cover is excellent. Very nicely done, and I agree with Shan's comments on it. Count me in on helping out on the 22nd, as well.

And once again, a great, tension-filled excerpt. Such a terrible position to be in, and you bring that through very well.

Wonderful excerpt too. Really brings the moment to life. Especially with reading the line on the cover.

  5. Yeah. That rain in November thing. *shudder* It's like the world turned upside-down.

*sniffle, sigh* Poor, poor Hannah and Simon. =0( You're so mean to them.

  6. I love the cover! It looks great! And the snippet was fantastic, really evocative!
Fun fact: It's raining in Adelaide right now, which is highly unusual considering it's almost summer and therefore should be 35 degrees (95 degree fahrenheit)!!

I love, love, love the cover. I think the combination of the black & white with the red is stunning.

Great snippet. What raw emotion there. My heart was pounding at the end, wondering what Simon would do.
